PARSIPANY, 25 November 2020 – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchise business with nearly 9,000 properties in 90 countries, is widening its ambitions for growth in Australia with the launch of Wyndham Grand® Adelaide, a major new landmark that will become one of the best hotels in South Australia and the country’s first Wyndham Grand hotel when it opens.

Wyndham Grand Adelaide will rise 120 meters from King William Street in Adelaide’s Central Business District to become a modern landmark for the region. The projected AUD150 million skyscrapers are being built by Equinox Property and will contain some 347 contemporary rooms and suites and a broad range of facilities that reinforce the idea of affordable luxury.

“The capital of South Australia has experienced a surge in investment, with new infrastructure projects such as the expansion of Adelaide Airport, the renovation of Adelaide Oval, and now the creation of one of the city’s top hotels,” said Joon Aun Ooi, President of Asia Pacific, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “We’re excited to be part of this prestigious initiative. Wyndham Grand is known for its emblematic locations, so I can’t think of any better way to bring the brand to Australia.”

Wyndham Grand Adelaide will deliver a range of refined rooms and suites showcasing a modern interior design featuring green walls, marble fixtures and shimmering furniture all accentuated by bright colour splashes, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the stunning view of Adelaide’s skyline and surrounding city.

Guests should expect a variety of excellent services, including an infinity pool with a sun deck and a bar providing panoramic city views, a day spa with sauna and treatment space, and a luxurious fitness centre. The five-star property will also provide a wide variety of dining experiences including an upscale lounge, a wine bar, a hill-facing sky bar with chic alfresco seating, and a rooftop restaurant, which is planned to become one of the most desirable dining destinations in the area.

Wyndham Grand Adelaide is expected to become Australia’s first Wyndham Grand and the broader Australasia region. It will be followed by an exclusive set of almost 50 Wyndham Grand hotels and resorts worldwide. In Australia, the hotel will contribute to Wyndham’s rapidly growing portfolio of brands spanning nearly 30 hotels and resorts, including sites in major cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Canberra and Darwin.

Wyndham Grand Adelaide will be operated by Wyndham Pty Ltd a division of Wyndham Destinations, which operates a portfolio of 54 assets across Asia Pacific, including Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Thailand, Indonesia and Japan.

“Our deep experience, knowledge and capabilities in hotel management make us the ideal partner for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts as it launches its Wyndham Grand brand in Australia,” said Warren Cullum, Senior Vice President, Operations at Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific. “This new hotel will be the pinnacle of hospitality available in Adelaide, and we are proud to have the opportunity to provide guests with an incomparable experience and showcase Adelaide to the world.”

“This is a proud moment for our company, as we announce this landmark development with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hospitality companies,” said Tong Guo, on behalf of Equinox Property. “Wyndham Grand is recognised all over the world for its amazing hotels and the brand is the right match for our new growth. With its prime location and remarkable stature, this hotel will become a new icon of success for the City of Adelaide, which has given us a place to call home for the last 20 years. We’re very happy that we will contribute back by highlighting such a significant building for the region and all of South Australia.”
